Ballykelly car dealers supporting Foyle Hospice for over 20 years

The generous staff of James O’Hara & Sons Motors, Clooney Road, Ballykelly, have been avid supporters of Foyle Hospice for over 20 years and this year is no different.

The local car dealership has donated two vans to the Foyle Hospice shops, with funds raised through their Wedding Car rentals.

This is the second time the Ballykelly car dealer has donated vans, with four vans having been donated in total.

Foyle Hospice Director of Income Generation and Communications, Sheila Duffy expressed her delight at the kind gesture saying: “The hospice relies heavily on funds generated by our charity shops and this donation will have a direct impact on our ability to pick-up and deliver donations. We have recently rebranded our shops logo and are celebrating our 40^th anniversary this year so we are absolutely delighted to promote our new look in style with our fabulous new vans.”

James O’Hara & Sons Motors, have a unique collection of 20 vintage wedding cars which are hired by up to 50 couples a year, with funds going directly towards Foyle Hospice. The stunning vintage cars have been featured in Liam Neeson’s recent film, ‘In the Land of Saints and Sinners’ and in several BBC and RTE productions.

A spokesperson for James O’Hara & Sons Motors explained: “We have been supporting Foyle Hospice for several years now since Reverend Brown’s death in 2003 and for us, it’s so important to give back to such a worthy cause that many people consider to be a life-line.

“By hiring a wedding car with us, not only are you getting chauffeured in the car of your dreams, but you are also helping towards the costs of specialist palliative care for patients and their families at Foyle Hospice.”

Sheila added: “We are very grateful to the amazing staff at O’Haras who have supported us so generously throughout the years with various fundraisers including their annual cycle, raffles, talent shows and much more.
“We cannot thank them enough for their amazing generosity which is making a difference to our specialist palliative care services.”
