The funeral arrangements for a Limavady man who died in a road crash in Kilrea on Monday have been announced.

The deceased, Craig McDonald, died after his vehicle collided with a tree on the Agivey Road, Kilrea just before 9pm on Monday.

Sinn Féin councillor Sean Bateson said the death of the 35-year-old has stunned the local community.

Cllr Bateson said: “I wish to extend my deepest sympathy to the family and friends of the man who died on the Agivey Road yesterday.

“I have no doubt the entire community will rally around to support all those affected in what will be difficult days ahead.

“Police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to contact them.”

Mr McDonald's funeral service will be held on Friday at 2pm in Brown's Funeral Home, Unit 21 Aghanloo Ind Estate, Limavady, BT49 0HE.

Anyone wishing to pay their respects to Craig are asked to call at Brown's Funeral Home on today (Wednesday) from 7pm to 9pm.
