Ebrington Square building that house the Turner Prize in 2013 up for sale

A building that housed the Turner Prize during the City of Culture year in 2013 in Derry's Ebrington Square has gone up for sale.

Building 80/81 is an imposing, two storey red brick building situated in the centre of Ebrington Square, just between the Ebrington Hotel and the visitor carpark.

The building is Grade B2 listed and was constructed circa 1880–1899 and refurbished between 2012–2015.

The 2013 Turner Prize was won by the French artist Laure Prouvost. The prize exhibition was held at the Ebrington Square building from October 23, 2013 to January 5, 2014 as part of the UK City of Culture celebrations.

The building, a former army barracks converted into offices, was transformed into a temporary art gallery for the Turner show, and returned to offices afterwards.

The awards ceremony was held at Ebrington on December 2, 2013. It was the first-time the exhibition and prize ceremony were held outside England.
