As she prepared to hand the chain of office to party colleague, Patricia Logue, at tonight's Council AGM, Mayor Duffy said: "As I prepare to hand over the chain and say goodbye to my year in office, I would like to say a huge heartfelt thank you to each and every person I have had the pleasure of working with and meeting this past 12 months.

"I have absolutely loved being your Mayor and having the opportunity to meet so many wonderful people from across the Derry and Strabane district.

"Through good times and sad, I have met some incredible groups, organisations and clubs from every walk of life and I have learned so much.

"I have made memories that will stay with me forever and would like to wish the new Mayor every success as they embark on this amazing journey ahead."
