Return of Western Trust virtual parent craft classes.
The Western Health and Social Care Trust (Western Trust) Maternity Services have announced the return of the Virtual Parent Craft Classes which were put on hold during the COVID-19 Pandemic.
Maureen Millar, Head of Service for Midwifery and Gynaecology at the Western Trust said: “We are delighted to announce the return of the virtual parent craft programme as part of Trust’s reset of our parent class programme post COVID-19.
"This will be available for all maternity service users who are unable to attend the face to face ‘Getting Ready For Baby’ Programme (EITP) which take place across the Western Trust.
The virtual parent craft classes with be provided by Microsoft TEAMS. They will take place on the first Thursday of every month from 2pm to 4pm, when the topics will include: signs of labour; pain relief options and delivery.
And the second Thursday of every month from 2pm to 4pm, when topics will include: postnatal period expectation; feeding baby; bonding and mental health.
The TEAMS ID is 342 209 635 442 and the Passcode is: LR8BDP
The classes will commence on the following dates throughout 2023: May 4 and May 11; June 1 and June 8; July 6 and July 13; August 3 and August 10; September 7 and September 14; October 5 and October 12; November 2 and November 9; and December 7 and December 14.
The Trust is looking forward to welcoming mums-to-be and their partners to the online parent craft classes.
