Local dance crew “Hustlers” has qualified to represent Ireland at this year's Hip Hop Championships in Arizona USA.
Founded in 2002 and based in Los Angeles, Hip Hop International is the producer of multiple live and televised street dance competitions that are the largest and most respected in the world.
The girls, who attend City Dance Derry, are set to take part in the competition this summer and are fundraising for their trip to the States.
Irena Noonan, owner and choreographer of City Dance Derry, set up her own independent City Dance Studio only a few months ago.
She was one of the first to receive a Magee University Degree in Dance and worked with Studio 2 for many years as a choreographer. .
Irena loves to share her passion for dance with the youth of the city and said this is the "opportunity of a lifetime" for the girls.
"We have eight dancers in this crew who are all 15-16 years old and they all have a huge passion for dance," Irena said.
"Taking these teenagers to dance on a world stage is none other than a dream come true for any young dancer, never mind myself as their teacher being able to get them there.
"We will be forever grateful to anyone who wishes to donate to help raise much needed funds for this trip. All donations will help cover costs for flights and accommodation.
"We hope you can help us achieve our goal. No amount is too little. We thank you in advance. Thanks for helping these fabulous young Derry girls get to Arizona USA this summer."
