Derry's Society Street Indoor Market is the only independent market in the North West and it is set to host an outdoor market later this month.
Established in 2018 by manager Duncan Curry, the indoor market now houses over 25 different outlets.
Set within the historic walls, the market hosts a number of small local businesses and traders.
Fresh locally sourced vegetables, artisan foods. quirky antiques and locally handcrafted products are just some of the products available to purchase.
Now, the organisers of the indoor market are set to host an outdoor market, free for local traders, on Society Street on March 25.
At no cost to traders, a decision made due to the current economic climate, Duncan says he hopes they can host it once a month to allow for more independent traders to have space to sell locally.
"We have a waiting list of stall holders already for the outdoor market," Duncan said.
"We have been working on this project for the past few months and we can finally confirm for the first time in quite a few years there will be a traditional street market inside the city walls.
"We're hoping to do this one a month, having the outdoor market. It's a tough time for independent traders.
"With the cost of living crisis, the cost of rates, some people just can't afford it. It doesn't cost us anything to set it up outside so it means the stall holders can trade for free.
"All the businesses are from the town, we want to do our bit to help small businesses and local traders. Hopefully this will become a regular thing."
The outdoor market will be held on Saturday March 25 with market stalls on Society Street from 10am to 4pm.
Society Street Indoor Market is open 7 days a week, 10am to 5:30pm.
