Bright spark had fireworks without a licence.
A man who bought fireworks in the market believed they were legal because they were on sale openly Derry Magistrate's Court heard today.
Michael Millar (35) of Winchester Park in Derry admitted a charge of possessing fireworks without a licence on December 10, 2021.
The court heard that police searched a number of premises on that date and uncovered fireworks.
Defence solicitor Paddy MacDermott said that his client was had bought the fireworks at a market stall believing them to be legal.
Millar was fined £200.
