The hit Channel 4 show, Derry Girls, has been nominated for three major awards at the 2023 National Comedy Awards.
The National Comedy Awards for Stand Up To Cancer celebrates the UK’s most brilliant comedy content and creators.
The show has been nominated in three prestigious categories. The show is up for Best Scripted Comedy- Lisa McGee.
Also, Saoirse Monica Jackson, who plays Erin in the comedy show, has been nominated for Outstanding Comedy Actress.
Jamie Lee O’Donnell who plays Michelle and Siobhan McSweeney who plays the iconic Sister Micheal are both up for Outstanding Supporting Role.
The nominations come after the show has won gongs at The Royal Television Society Awards, The Irish Film and Television Awards as well as receiving BAFTA nominations.
After the nominations were announced, the iconic show's writer and creator, Derry native Lisa McGee tweeted: “I’m at it again.
“Alternatively tell me to shut up if you’re sick listening to me. I’m sick listening to myself to be honest.
“Thrilled to be nominated though xx.”
The 2023 awards ceremony will take place live on Friday, February 17 2023, at London’s Roundhouse.
