Derry City and Strabane District Council Update - 8:30 am, Friday, 20 January 2023.

Derry City and Strabane District Council has released an update on its services for Friday (January 20, 2023).

It said: "Ongoing icy conditions and low temperatures overnight and this morning have meant that there will be minimal impact on some of the services provided by Derry City and Strabane District Council. Council crews across all services are working to ensure services are provided with minimal disruption.

"As of all earlier this week, Bin Collection Services are operating as normal with some minor localised disruption. Householders are encouraged to put their bins out for collection as normal and our crews will endeavour to collect them when it is safe to do so.

"Council cemeteries will remain closed to the public today but will be  open to facilitate burials.

"Council recycling centres and parks will be open when it is safe to do so and the public are asked to use these facilities with care and to co-operate fully with staff.

"Further updates will be provided when they become available."
