A man had both his nose and jaw broken in a suspected sectarian assault in the city centre at the weekend.
The man was walking towards the Foyle Street car park (pictured above) with his friend at around 2.30am on Saturday, May 17 when he was set upon by a gang of up to 10 males.
Both the man and his friend were chased to the car park where the gang then began to rain down blows on the pair.
The injured man, who is from the Waterside area, sustained a broken jaw and broken nose, as well as other facial and mouth injuries.
The man had told police he believes there was a sectarian motivation to the assault.
