Police have confirmed that a female has died following a report of a two vehicle road traffic incident at the Moneymore Road, Magherafelt area this morning.
Shortly before 9am, it was reported that a red Peugoet 107 and a white Nissan Qashqai were involved in the incident.
It is believed that another female was injured during the incident and has been taken to a nearby hospital for treatment to injuries that are not believed to be life threatening.
The road remains closed between its junctions with the Gortagilly Road and Carmean Road.
Motorists are advised to seek alternative main routes for their journey.
