The family of missing Derry man Dean Millar have confirmed that the body recovered from the River Foyle was that of Dean.

Dean was last seen in the Brandywell area of the city late on Saturday 11th March and he is believed to have entered the river close to Craigavon Bridge in the early hours of Sunday 12th March.

Police confirmed on Tuesday evening that a body was recovered from the River Foyle.

A family spokesperson said: "Dean is coming home. It has been officially confirmed that it was Dean's body recovered from the Foyle on Tuesday.

"Although we were certain ourselves it was Dean, until it was confirmed were in limbo.

"Thanks again to each and everyone of you for all your help and continued support."

A PSNI spokesperson said: "The body recovered from the banks of the River Foyle on Tuesday evening (April 18) has been confirmed as that of Dean Millar."
