Derry City's opponents in the next round of the FAI crashed out of the Europa League tonight following a 1-3 home defeat to Slovan Bratislava.

The Irish champions went into the game having drawn the away leg 1-1.

The visitors were firmly in control at the break at Oriel Park with goals from da Silva and Cavric in the 12th and 33rd minutes respectively,

Derry man Michael Duffy (pictured) got what proved to be a consolation score for the Co Louth side in the 71st minute,

Daniel completed the scoring with a third goal for the visitors in added time.

Stafford, Lavery and Clarke got the goals for Linfield in a 3-2 win over Sutjeska Biksic at Windsor Park which sees the Irish League champions progress to the next round 5-3 on aggregate.

Scottish champions Celtic suffered a shock 3-4 defeat to CFR Cluj to exit the Champions League on a 4-5 aggregate scoreline.
