General Election 2024: SDLP leader Colum Eastwood retains Foyle seat

Colum Eastwood has retained the Foyle seat

SDLP leader Colum Eastwood has successfully defended his Foyle seat.

Mr Eastwood retained his seat with a significantly reduced majority, of just over 4,000. 

He polled 15,647 votes, down 11,234 votes from 2019 when he secured a whopping 26,881 votes.

Mr Eastwood's nearest challenger, Sinn Féin's Sandra Duffy polled a respectable 11,481 votes.

The other Foyle candidates polled:

Gary Middleton DUP - 3,915

Shaun Harkin PBP - 2,444

Anne McCloskey Ind - 1,519

Janice Montgomery UUP - 1,422

Rachael Ferguson Alliance - 1,268

John Boyle Aontu - 662
