The Eglinton Annual Show is set to go ahead despite the area having been devestated by recent flooding.

The event will take place in the area on Saturday 9th September with all proceeds donated to flood relief agencies.

Chairperson of the event Pam Hardeman said: "Despite the recent devastation caused by flooding in our village the committee felt, at an emergency meeting held this evening, that for the sake of the community spirit we would definitely go ahead with our show on Saturday 9th September.

"All proceeds taken at the gate will be donated to flood relief agencies/funds.

"Teas will be served by Eglinton Women's Institute in the main marquee instead of St Canice's Hall.

Entry forms and fees can be left with our secretary Hester Craig at 23 Main Street to save time on Saturday morning. Details of all 209 classes available at www.eglintonshow.com

"Please share with as many of your friends and family as possible to spread the word."
