THE driver of this vehicle is lucky to be alive after crashing into a County Derry field yesterday.
The van landed on its roof in the field after going through a hedge on the Ballyquin Road between Dungiven and Limavady just after 9am on Monday.
A PSNI spokesperson confirmed that the female driver was taken to hospital as a precaution following the smash.
The incident comes came just days after PSNI Superintendent David Moore said the North was facing a road safety emergency.
Six people have died on the North’s roads since the beginning of January.
The recent fatalities have prompted Environment Minister Mark H Durkan to call a special meeting of road safety groups at Stormont today (Tuesday).
