Derry man Shane Ferguson made his long-awaited debut for Glasgow Rangers in their 3-1 defeat by Motherwell in last night’s promotion play-off final first leg tie at Ibrox.
Rangers were 3-0 down when the 23-year-old was brought off the bench in the 67th minute by manager Stuart McCall and his performance, albeit for only 25 minutes, has resulted in fans at Ibrox taking to social media demanding he be included in the starting line-up for Sunday’s second leg.
Ferguson (pictured) was one of five Newcastle United players who went on loan from Newcastle United to the Scottish giants but had been sidelined by a knee injury.
