Part of the main Derry to Letterkenny road is closed off after a man was killed in a car crash.

The 50 year-old motorcyclist died in a collision in the Burt area. Another man was taken to Altnagelvin Hospital in Derry after the accident around 10pm last night.

Gardai say the road is closed between Bridgend and Burt with traffic being diverted through Burnfoot.

It is understood that this section of the road will remain closed for most of this morning.

No other details have yet been released about the tragedy.
