A teenager from Derry has been remanded into custody for interfering with vehicles and the attempted burglary of a house.

Tiernan Martin, 18, with an address of Braefield in Claudy on his charge sheet appeared at Derry Magistrates’ Court charged with interference with vehicles at Simpsons Brae, criminal damage to a front door, and attempted burglary with intent to steal on October 17.

He is further charged with possession of prohibited fireworks in Bank place, throwing a firework in the same area and assaulting police on October 7.

The court heard that no bail application would be made because no address was available to the teenager.

The case was adjourned and Martin will appear in court again by way of video link on November 9.
