Letterkenny to host Atletico Madrid linked football training programme clinic
A football training programme associated with Spanish footballing giants, Atletico Madrid, is hosting a clinic in Derry for young local footballers.
Leafair Football Pitches is the location of the clinic run by Atletico de Madrid Academy Dublin on April 7, with players born between 2012 and 2018 invited to participate.

An online post read: “Join us for an unforgettable football experience where players will learn the Atletico de Madrid training methodology, build key skills in teamwork, determination, and discipline, train under UEFA-licensed Spanish coaches from Atletico de Madrid, and experience what it means to be part of the Atletico family.”
Vision Academy Atletico de Madrid Dublin states: “We aspire to be an educational and formative football club of reference, we would like to be recognised throughout Ireland for our commitment to the integral development of young players.”

When discussing the future projections, an online statement reads: “We want to move forward with the help and support of Club Atlético de Madrid and establish ourselves in the city of Dublin as an academy with a training aspect and a fun space, where our young players enjoy the sport of football.
“In the coming years, our goal is to grow in players, expand the teams and look for new sports facilities, but we recognise that in this aspect we have a great challenge to achieve.”
