County Derry's Dearbhaile Brady has been named in a nine-strong Irish contingent for the upcoming Para Swimming World Series in Barcelona, from March 19 to 22, 2026.

The local swimmer, who has become a mainstay of the Irish high-performance unit, enters the competition with a demanding four-day schedule. Brady will be testing her speed and versatility across five individual events, beginning on the opening day with the 100m Freestyle and the 50m Butterfly.

As the competition progresses, the Feeny woman will also represent Ireland in the 100m Breaststroke, 50m Backstroke and the 50m Freestyle. Her performance in Barcelona follows a successful opening to the 2026 season and serves as a vital benchmark against elite international fields.

The Irish team travelling to the event in Barcelona includes a mix of established stars and emerging talent: Róisín Ní Riain, Barry McClements, Luke Brennan, Ellie Lynch, Luke O’Donoghue, Maya Hogan, Sam Black and Deaten Registe.

The Para Swimming World Series brings together leading swimmers from across the international circuit and offers valuable racing experience for Irish athletes as they continue their progression in high-performance Para swimming.
