Jarlath Canning, Derry City FC Women first team manager
Derry City FC Women have confirmed the appointment of Jarlath Canning as the club's new First Team Manager.
Canning transitions into the role permanently following a highly successful tenure within the Derry City FC academy structure.

Having stepped in to oversee first-team coaching duties in an interim capacity following the resignation of the previous management in May 2025, Canning’s leadership has already provided vital stability to the senior squad. His official appointment marks an ambitious new chapter as the club builds toward the 2026 Sports Direct Women’s Premiership season.
Chairman John Hegarty commented: "We are delighted to officially announce Jarlath Canning as our Senior Women’s Manager. Jarlath has excelled as our Academy Director and U19s head coach in recent years, during which time he has demonstrated excellent coaching ability and a high level of commitment and drive to improve all aspects of the club.
