Sir Nick Faldo with 2025 Futures Finalists at The Belfry
The prestigious Faldo Series has confirmed its return to Ireland for 2026, marking three decades of Sir Nick Faldo’s commitment to junior golf. As part of the landmark anniversary season, Kilrea Golf Club will play a pivotal role in launching the next generation of world-class talent, following in the footsteps of the Series' most famous alumnus, Rory McIlroy.
On April 12, 2026, Kilrea Golf Club will host the opening Irish qualifying round of the brand-new Faldo Futures initiative. This grassroots program is specifically designed for children aged 7 to 12, providing an accessible entry point into competitive tournament golf.

The County Derry-based event serves as the first step on an elite development pathway. Top performers from the Kilrea qualifier will advance to the Regional Final at the Lough Erne Resort on June 21, with the ultimate prize being an invitation to the Faldo Futures Final at The Belfry during the Husqvarna British Masters in August.
The launch of Faldo Futures in Ireland underlines a commitment to growing the game from the ground up, creating welcoming environments where young players can build the confidence and skills that lead to a lifelong love of the game.
