Sean Patton nets first senior goal for Reading

Nineteen-year-old Sean Patton, a deadline day signing from Derry City, has had an impressive start to his Reading career.

The Drumkeen native scored his first senior goal for the club on Tuesday evening against MK Dons in the Vertu Trophy group stage.

He netted the only goal of the game in the 88th minute after coming on as a substitute in the 85th minute.

Last week, he played a key role in the Royals' 3-1 win over West Ham United in the same competition, earning a late penalty that was converted by Mark O'Mahony to secure the win.
