County Derry swimmer sets new personal best in first event of World Championships

Dearbhaile Brady sets new personal best in first event of World Para Swimming Championships in Singapore

County Derry swimmer Dearbhaile Brady has made her first appearance at this year's World Para Swimming Championships in Singapore.

The Feeney woman made her first appearance at this year’s World Championships in the SM6 200m Individual Medley Final, finishing fifth overall and setting a new personal best in the process.

She finished the 200m race in a time of 3:18.13.

Speaking after the race Brady said: “I think that swim went really, really well, I mean I was quite nervous coming into it but It’s good to have them nerves it means you want a really good race”

Brady will be back in action on day five, six and seven of the Championships.
