The O’Neill's Foyle Cup is set for a record-breaking year in 2025, as 840 teams entered.

This is a record number of teams to have entered the competition, breaking the 740 teams record of last year.

The Foyle Cup took to Facebook to announce the news, and while they are set to have record numbers with the current number entered, they still have room for teams in certain age groups at the boys' level.

Their post said: “Well folks, it would seem now that we are well caught up in entering our teams on O'Neill's Foyle Cup database. We have an entry of 840 teams—yes, 840 teams—entered from Australia, South Africa, China, the U.S.A., Canada, Spain, Finland, Scotland, England, and Ireland—North and South.

“In the next few days we will post the names of teams entered in age categories, one age category each night.

“Before we do this, we want to let teams know that in boys' mini soccer at under 8—to take the number of teams entered to 72 teams—we can accept one more team; in boys' mini soccer at under 10—to take our entry to 112 teams—we can accept one more team.

“We may have one vacancy in our 11 v 11 age groups at under 13, 14, 15, and 17.”

The competition is set to take place from Monday, 21 July to Saturday, 26 July 2025, with referees still being encouraged to register too through this link.

If teams still wish to seek a position or be placed on the standby list, they can email oneillsfoylecup@gmail.com.
