Derry City fans are expected to pack out the Brandywell this evening.
Derry City are set to get their 2025 League of Ireland campaign underway this evening as they host Bohemians.
It will be a special night for the Candystripes as they celebrate their 40th year in the competition.
The club will also unveil their new stand on the night and an increased capacity, with this now causing no issues in selling the match out, as Derry City announced on social media that all tickets for the fixture have sold.
To celebrate this momentous night, Féile Derry released a video on social media showing footage of football at the Brandywell.
Derry City joined the League of Ireland in 1985 after 13 years in the wilderness playing junior football after they withdrew from the Irish League in October 1972.
Since joining the league, the club has won two Premier Division titles in the League of Ireland, and despite an opening day defeat to current champions Shelbourne last week, there is hope that this season could be the year that they add a third title under new manager Tiernan Lynch.
The video shows footage of the fans celebrating some of the greatest moments through the years in the league and footage of Derry players performing at the stadium while also having an incredible shot of a child overlooking the Brandywell from the direction of the city cemetery.
They finish the video with a message of luck to Derry City for the season ahead.
