Kilcoo boss Karl Lacey has dismissed reports linking him to the Derry job

Karl Lacey led Kilcoo to a sixth county title in a row in Pairc Esler on Sunday.

The former Donegal star was on the line for the Down kingpins as they secured a 1-10 to 0-4 win over Burren.

The reigning champions will now face Cavan champions in the Ulster Club SFC.

Meanwhile, 2012 Footballer of the Year Lacey has dismissed reports linking him to the vacant Derry manager’s job as bizarre.

Speaking to media after the Down county final he said: “There’s absolutely no truth in that. I haven’t engaged in any conversation with Derry GAA.

“I just find it bizarre. My full focus is with Kilcoo, and that group of players know that. All my energy, all my commitment, all my dedication, everything, is just with this group at this moment in time.

“I haven’t engaged in any conversation about any inter-county job.”
