Marcus Christie on his way to breaking the course record
Marcus Christie clocked a new course record in the Donegal Bay Cycling Club 25 Mile TT on Thursday.
The Derry cyclist completed the event in 48 minutes and 17 seconds.
The Cycling Club Isle of Man rider beat the previous course record, set by George Peden, by 66 seconds.
"For the second year in a row, the course record for the 25-mile TT has been broken,” organisers said.
Christie was in scintillating form to take the Donegal Harvest-sponsored prize for breaking the course record.
Conditions were far from ideal with a swirling wind, but perhaps the new surface helped as Christie scorched the out-and -back course in a time of 48:17.
Christie is the Irish record holder for time trial in multiple distances.
