Brandon Kavanagh spent two seasons at Derry City.

Brandon Kavanagh has left Derry City to join St Patrick's Athletic after two seasons at the Brandywell.

The 23 year midfielder joined City at the start of the 2022 season after impressing at Bray Wanderers and made 73 appearances for the Candystripes, scoring nine times and providing 13 assists.

Kavanagh scored big goals against Shamrock Rovers in the quarterfinals and Treaty United in the semi-finals of last year's successful FAI Cup campaign and was again amongst the goals in 2023, scoring against Dundalk, Athlone, UCD and St. Pat's.

Having started 23 league games in 2022, Kavanagh saw his starting time limited this past season, starting just 11 league games. He was more often a substitute in 2023, coming off the bench 22 times in all competitions.

He is now looking forward to his next challenge.

"I'm really looking forward to being a St Pat's player and I'm delighted to get the deal over the line," he said. "I spoke to Jon about his plans for the club and I'm excited for the future here. Pat's have done really well over the last couple of seasons, they've just won the cup again, they play good football and the supporters have been excellent, it's something I really want to be part of and I can't wait to get to work."

City boss Ruaidhri Higgins thanks the midfielder for this time at Brandywell
“We would like to thank Brandon for his commitment during his time here. He played an important contribution and we wish him well”.

St. pat's manager Jon Daly said: "I'm delighted to get Brandon in. I've seen him play live numerous times and I've always come away impressed by his performances, he is a very talented player. I've no doubt Brandon will fit into the group really well and we're very happy to welcome him to the club."
