Mark Mbuli was the Institute match winner again as he scored to help his team pick up a valuable win against H&W Welders at the Brandywell.

‘Stute took the lead on 12 minutes when Mark Mbuli picked out Liam Mullan at the back post and midfielder produced a lovely finish to score his first goal for the club.

That lead didn’t last long however as Welders equalised just six minutes later but it was a moment to forget for ‘Stute goalkeeper Bryankizito Uzoukwu, who somehow allowed a speculative shot from former ‘Stute man James McClay to bounce over his dive and into the net.

The home side responded well to that setback and took the lead again towards the half hour. This time Mullan repaid the favour to Mbuli, as a swift counterattack left Welders exposed and the midfielder found Mbuli at the back post, who took a touch before firing past Michael Argyrides to make it 2-1.

That proved to be the winning goal as Welders were unable to respond in the second half.
