Five appearances, three goals, European magic - Will Patching nominated for SWI Player of the Month for July

Derry City

Will Patching has returned to form this past month.

Derry City's Will Patching has been nominated for the SSE Airtricity/Soccer Writers Ireland Player of the Month for July.

The midfielder has been in sensational form in the past few weeks, scoring a last-gasp penalty winner against Sligo Rovers at the Brandywell as well as the opening goal against Athlone in the FAI Cup.

Patching was also instrumental in Derry City's recent win over KuPS in the Europa Conference League Qualifying game at the Brandywell, scoring a bullet header as the Candystripes came from behind to win 2-1.

Patching is nominated alongside Adam Foley (Drogheda United), James McManus (Bohemians), Gavin Molloy (Shelbourne), Jonathan Afolabi (Bohemians) and Emmanuel Adegboyega (Drogheda United).
