Rory Gallagher is no longer Derry senior manager

Rory Gallagher has officially stepped down as Derry senior manager.

The news has been announced this evening by Derry GAA, just two days after the county's historic Ulster Championship win over Armagh at Clones.

Ciaran Meenagh led the team for Sunday's game after Gallagher had taken a step back just days before the final. But he has now stepped down completely.

A brief statement from Derry GAA read:

"Derry GAA can today confirm that Rory Gallagher has stepped down as the county’s senior football manager.

"Ciaran Meenagh will assume the role for the rest of the 2023 season.

"Derry GAA will be making no further comment at this time."
