Derry’s Guildhall and Tower Museum had over 430,000 visitors in 2024.
The Maiden City has many things that could attract tourists and visitors: history, culture, and celebrations.
Derry can attract those wishing to discover the history from the early days to the Plantation, to the Siege of Derry in the 17th century, and the Great Famine in the 19th century before the Walled City’s history with the Troubles.
Derry City and Strabane District Council announced on Facebook that the Guildhall and Tower Museum had 430,231 visitors last year.
They said: “On behalf of the Visitor Services Team, we're incredibly grateful to the 430,231 visitors who explored the Guildhall and Tower Museum in 2024!
“We hope every visit, whether for a special occasion, a wedding, a conference, or simply to explore the magnificent buildings and captivating exhibits that provide an in-depth look into our city's past, provided a memorable experience for both previous and new visitors alike.
“We look forward to welcoming you back soon.”
The city will be determined to show off all it has to offer in 2025 and welcome more people with its annual Halloween celebrations, the highly anticipated Jazz Festival, and Maritime Festival.
As people journey to Derry, many will pop into the Guildhall and Tower Museum, and once again this may be the case for 2025.
