Foyle Street is set to reopen on Friday, December 6.

This will be perfect for the businesses on the street and for the population of Derry as they look to do their Christmas shopping or go for a social meal or drink with friends.

Northern Ireland Water made the announcement in a post to Facebook.

It said: “Our contractor BSG is well on the way to having Foyle Street fully reopened for the festive period by this Friday (6th December).

“The road has been resurfaced, and the construction hoardings are currently being removed to allow through traffic along Foyle Street between 6th December 2024 and 5th January 2025.

“We would remind the public that Translink’s Metro bus services will continue to operate from Foyle Street Bus Station while the road is temporarily reopened.”

However, the street will close again on Monday, January 6, to accommodate the next phase of work between Foyle Street Bus Station and Shipquay Place.
