Police are investigating a road traffic collision in Derry.
The incident took place between the Madamsbank Roundabout and Glengalliagh Roundabout involving a red car in the late hours of October, 30.
A male involved in the collision has been left with ‘serious injuries’.
The road was closed for a time but has since reopened.
Police are appealing for information following a report of a one vehicle road traffic collision involving a pedestrian in the Madamsbank Road area of Derry/Londonderry on Wednesday.
Inspector Craig said: “At around 10.15pm, it was reported that a pedestrian was struck down by a red Astra.
“The pedestrian, a man aged in his 30s, was treated by our Northern Ireland Ambulance Service colleagues at the scene and his injuries are non-life threatening.
“The red Astra was later discovered abandoned in the Ringfort Road area.
“The Madamsbank Road was closed but has subsequently re-opened following the collision.
“Enquiries are continuing and police would appeal to anyone with information or who witnessed what happened, or who has dash-cam or other footage to contact officers on 101, quoting reference number 1663 30/10/24.”
