X Factor’s Eoghan Quigg returns to the spotlight with new gig at Q Radio

Derry’s Eoghan Qiugg has posted a tribute to former One Direction star Liam Payne.

The former X-Factor contestant posted a video to Facebook paying tribute following the death of Payne in Buenos Aires earlier in the week on October 16.

Quigg met Payne during the TV show's fifth series in 2008, getting to know each other during the Bootcamp stage.

The "Strip That Down" singer died after falling from a third-floor balcony at the CasaSur hotel in the Palermo neighbourhood of Buenos Aires, Argentina, at the age of 31.

Quigg, 16 at the time, progressed to the live show in that series, whereas Payne, 14 at the time, would be asked to come back in two years to re-audition when he was older by Simon Cowell.

The Dungiven man had nothing but kind words for Payne and his family in his tribute following the Englishman’s sudden death.
