Logan- a Derry native and an adorable golden cockapoo- is proudly representing County Derry
Seven month old Logan is currently a finalist in the 'Nose of Tralee' competition representing County Derry.
The competition- the Rose of Tralee of the pet world- is held by Pet Sitters Ireland and is in its tenth year. They received hundreds of entries from across the island.
From man's best friend to beloved pet chickens, all entries were whittled down to just one finalist from each county.
Logan- a Derry native and an adorable golden cockapoo- is proudly representing County Derry and he and his human, Kerri, hope to bring the title home.
"We entered Logan into the competition initially for the craic and of course now, we are totally invested in the process," Kerri laughed.
"Judges picked three pets from each county- we were so shocked to even see him as one of the final three in the county.
"They went on to select one representative for each county- 32 pets in total now and low and behold Logan is repping for Derry.
"The final voting starts next week and there hasn't yet been a Derry winner from what I know."
Logan hopes to bring home the title to Derry for the first time
Back in June, entries to the competition began and pet owners from across the island uploaded photos of their furry children alongside a short blurb about what would make their pet the best 'Nose of Tralee.'
Pet Sitters Ireland, who run the competition, kindly sent out a goodie box to all the 32 finalists with treats for the pet and a sash.
For the Finals, the finalists need to have a new photo wearing their sash.
Public voting opens on Aug 3 for a fortnight until they announce the overall winner for 'Nose of Tralee 2023.'
Kerri hopes Derry can get behind Logan and bring the title back to the county.
Kerri continued: "Logan is a very cheeky, energetic pup who just loves meeting other people and dogs.
"He loves his Patrick from Spongebob Squarepants teddy, cuddles, digging the garden and eating the sofa.
"He has been out in Derry this week getting some pictures wearing his sash. Hopefully we can get some Derry votes behind Logan and bring the title home."
