The Foyle Hospice charity store in Springtown has been burgled in Derry.
Police in Derry are currently investigating after cash was taken from the commercial premises in the Springtown area of the city during the early hours of this morning (Wednesday March 29).
It's reported the burglary on Ballinaska Road occurred sometime between 3.30am and 5am this morning. A window was also smashed.
A PSNI Spokesperson said: "We're investigating a burglary at commercial premises on Ballinaska Road in Springtown sometime between 3.30am and 5am this morning.
"Cash was taken and a window was smashed. If you’ve information, or you were in the area and saw anything out of the ordinary, or captured suspicious activity on your dash cam, call 101, reference number 399 of 29/03/23."
A spokesperson for Foyle Hospice said: "Foyle Hospice is disappointed at the recent break-in at our Springtown Outlet. Our five shops are an important source of income to help ensure we continue to offer our services for free to patients and their families.
"Thankfully no one was in the shop or injured during the incident but we now have to carry out repairs to make the premises safe and secure again.
"We are cooperating with the PSNI so that they can carry out an investigation."
