McKeone Solicitors are just one of 15 legal firms taking part in the initiative
March 1 marks the start of Make a Will Month and during the month of March, legal firms across the North West will kindly donate their time and expertise to write and update wills in return for a donation to Foyle Hospice.
A total of 15 firms are supporting this month-long campaign, so there is sure to be a solicitor near you and a full list of participating solicitors is available on the Foyle Hospice website.
You can leave your own legacy of kindness in your will by helping Foyle Hospice to continue providing specialist palliative care to the local community.
Kathleen Bradley, Foyle Hospice Fundraising Officer, said it’s never too early to make your will and every donation makes a difference to the lives of people using Foyle Hospice services.
“Our Make a Will Month is an opportunity to help yourself and your loved ones, as well as supporting your local hospice,” she said.
“Making a will is sensible end-of-life planning. We know that having a will in place can make things that little bit easier for our loved ones after we have died.
"None of us like to think about our own death, but, equally, none of us would want to leave our loved ones dealing with unnecessary legal and financial matters if we could help it – and we can help it.
"We can help it by writing our will. Take advantage of the Make a Will Month this March and leave things organised for your loved ones.”
Kathleen explained how the scheme will work: “This year we’re working alongside more firms than ever before to help people write their will.
"We would like to thank the solicitors who have partnered with us and very kindly donated their time and expertise to support our campaign.
“There is no obligation or expectation to include Foyle Hospice in your will but if you choose to do so you will be doing something wonderful.
"You will be helping to secure the future of our specialist palliative services, helping people with terminal and life-limiting illness to live as well as they can for as long as they can. Everyone has a role to play in palliative care.”
Participating firms will help you make your will for a suggested donation of £75 to Foyle Hospice.
If your will is complex there may be an additional fee to pay. Please discuss your requirements with your solicitor when you make your appointment and they will let you know if there will be any additional costs before starting proceedings.
The full list of participating solicitors can be found on the Foyle Hospice website at www.foylehospice.com or if you would like any further information on Make a Will Month contact Kathleen on 71359888.
