A man who shouted ‘I hope you get shot’ at police officers in Derry will be sentenced next month.
Paul McBride, 38, of Barrs Lane, admitted behaving in a disorderly manner in Bracken Park on December 18 of last year.
District Judge Nigel Broderick described the defendant as ‘no stranger to the court’.
A Public Prosecution Service (PPS) representative said police observed a vehicle in the Galliagh area of the city at 9pm on December 18 in which the defendant was present.
She told the court that the defendant was verbally aggressive, swearing and shouting, saying, ‘you’ll get shot’ along with ‘other obscenities’.
He was removed by another male but drove past several times shouting, ‘I hope you get shot’, and ‘made gestures’.
A short pre-sentence report was ordered for July 6.
