Derry man jailed for grabbing partner by throat
A 44-year-old Derry man has been jailed for three months for grabbing his partner by the throat.
Paul Kelly, of Damien House in John Street, committed the offence on May 20 last year, Derry Magistrates Court heard.
The prosecution said he verbally abused staff of Damien House who told him to stop the attack.
Defence solicitor Paddy MacDermott said the couple are in an “ongoing relationship.”
“It’s not the first time this relationship has ended up in court,” District Judge Peter King said.
Judge King activated one month of a previous suspended sentence and added a further two months for the most recent offence.
