A Derry man had 20,000 drug-related messages on his phone, a court was told today.

Christopher Gallagher, from Foyle Road, was convicted of a series of drug offences at Derry Crown Court.

The offences all took place last year.

The court that police searched 29 year-old Gallagher's home on December 3 last year.

Officers found 14.5 grammes of herbal cannabis and a grinder.

Police also seized a mobile phone which they found had 20,000 drug-related messages to 63 people.

The court was told that Gallagher bought an ounce 'every few weeks' which he would put into 14 two gramme bags and sell and kept the rest for himself.

He would also sell to street users  who supplied other groups.

He will be sentenced on Thursday.
