A Derry man ended up in court today after he went for a burger.

Aaron McCusker, 23, of St Eithne’s is charged with a number of drugs charges between August and September, 2012.

McCusker appeared before Derry Magistrates Court today for breaching his curfew.

The court was told that police stopped a car leaving a McDonald’s drive thru at 3am yesterday in which McCusker was a passenger. Police then realised McCusker was in breach of bail conditions.

A police officer told the court that McCusker has co-operated fully with police and acknowledged the breach.

Deputy District Judge Sean O’Hare told McCusker: “For the sake of a Big Mac or Happy Meal you managed to get yourself locked up in custody again.

“You’re being held in custody all for the sake of a burger. You have a curfew, stick to it and you won’t be in any trouble with police.”

McCusker was released on bail and will be back in court again on August 27.
