Derry fans of Garth Brooks could be left counting the cost after confirmation that all five concerts at Croke Park have been cancelled.
After days of frantic negotiations, the promoters of the concerts, Aiken Promotions, confirmed the worst fears for fans of the country star.
In a statement this afternoon, Aiken Promotions said: "It is with great regret that Aiken Promotions today announce that the 5 concert Garth Brooks Comeback Special Event at Croke Park has been cancelled. No concerts will take place.
"The ticket return process will be outlined tomorrow. Aiken Promotions have exhausted all avenues regarding the staging of this event.
"We are very disappointed for the 400,000 fans who purchased tickets for The Garth Brooks Comeback Special Event."
Hundred of fans in Derry had snapped up tickets for the concerts when they went on sale earlier this year.
Although they will get their money back on the tickets, they may lose out on hotel deposits and transport costs.
