A group of Derry dieters have bravely took to the catwalk to show off their new figures.

A special fashion show was organised at the Everglades Hotel by the Weightwatchers organisation.

At the event, people who had taken part in Weightwatchers classes in Derry were given the chance to share their new look with the audience.

When they started their classes, the models could barely have envisaged themselves taking part in a public fashion show within a few months.

However, that’s what they did last Friday night when they bravely took the steps up on to the catwalk.

A spokeswoman for Weightwatchers paid tribute to everyone who took part in the event.

“WeightWatchers members and guests enjoyed a great night of entertainment as the models showcased a range of styles from local fashion houses,” she said.

“All of the models were WeightWatchers members who were very proud to show off their weight loss success wearing the latest summer fashions.

“The event also featured a cookery masterclass by Celebrity chef, Jenny Bristow. Jenny demonstrated how to prepare a barbeque fare. A good time was enjoyed by all at this very successful event.”

Money raised as a result of the fashion event will be donated to the Diabetes UK charity.
