Loughs Agency are hosting a wide range of exciting water and land activities for the whole family to enjoy at this year’s highly anticipated Foyle Maritime Festival.
The activities will be predominately based at the Agency’s Maritime Festival tent along the River Foyle throughout the duration of the four-day spectacle, and bookings are now open for all events.
Revellers can enjoy Stand Up Paddleboard (SUP) Yoga courtesy of Far & Wild or take part in four-person Dragon SUP races. Foyle Paddlers will be providing Canoe Taster Sessions and Twilight Paddles, as well as staging the annual Foyle Race.
‘Craic On A Kayak’ will be available from Binevenagh Adventures, while off-site activities include Aquapark Fun Sessions and a variety of angling and fly-casting sessions at Creggan Country Park.
Loughs Agency’s Maritime Festival tent will also be dedicated to educating the public on the importance of conserving and protecting our natural environment, with an emphasis on caring for local waterways.
A custom-created VR experience will transport people from along the Quay underneath the Foyle, showcasing the marine life that exists within the Foyle and Carlingford loughs.
In addition, the return of the ‘Marine Machine’, a mobile interactive facility complete with a life-size basking shark, touch tanks and a biodiversity area, is sure to once again prove a popular attraction.
The Foyle Maritime Festival is making its return for the first time since 2022, running from 27th – 30th June, with thousands of people from all over the world expected to attend the festivities.
