In the run up to the third annual firmus energy City of Derry Triathlon taking place on Sunday 14 June, local children and teenagers aged 8 – 15 are being encouraged to take part in the firmus energy ‘TRYathlon’ on Sunday next, 7 June.

Featuring running, cycling and swimming activities the event will take place at Templemore Sports Complex 8.45am and 9.15am to get ready with the first events beginning 9.45am

Organisers, which include Derry City and Strabane District Council, North West Triathlon Club and firmus energy, are calling for parents to bring their kids along on the day to let them have a

All events are open to children aged 8-15 years with various distances for each group, which are as follows; Primary 8-11 years, Secondary A 11-13 years and Secondary B 14-15 years.

There are three separate events that kids can choose from namely TRYathlon (Swim-Bike-Run) Duathlon (Run-Bike-Run) Aquathon (Swim-Run).

The cost to take part is £8 for non Triathlon Ireland members and £5 for Triathlon Ireland members.
