Mary Bridget “Bridie” Boyle (née McClenaghan), 5a Strawmore Road, Draperstown

We regret to inform you that the death has taken place of Mary Bridget “Bridie” Boyle (née McClenaghan), peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on March 1 2026, may she rest in peace. Late of 5a Strawmore Road, Draperstown, Co Derry. Beloved wife of John. Loving mother of Leo (Siobhan), Anne (Nigel), Maeve (Jack), Joan (Jim), Sean (Diane), Martin (Ashelene) and Patrick (Mary). Very much loved and will be sadly missed by her 17 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Daughter of the late Leo and Agnes McClenaghan RIP, Claggan Road, Claudy. Dear sister of Eileen O’Kane, Leo McClenaghan and the late Anne Hegarty RIP. Wake at her son Martin’s home - 1 Strawmore Road, Draperstown, BT45 7JE. Bridie’s wake will commence on Monday, March 2 at 11.00am. Family time please from 10.00pm to 11.00am. Funeral on Wednesday, March 4 2026, leaving her son’s home at 10.15am for 11.00am Requiem Mass in Saint Columba’s Church, Straw. Interment immediately afterwards in the adjoining graveyard. Stephen Morrison, 36 Lismoyle Road, Kilrea

The death has taken place of Stephen Morrison February 28, (suddenly), 36 Lismoyle Road, Kilrea, dearly beloved husband of Lizzy, much loved father of Emma, dearest brother of Thomas, dear brother-in-law of Isabel and beloved uncle of Jonny, Adam (and his wife Mollie) Sarah (and her husband Callum) and great uncle of Ellie-Mae, Ethan, Olivia and Jude. Funeral details to follow. Family flowers only please. Francis Joseph McEldowney, 54 Drumbane Road, Tirhugh, Swatragh

The death has taken place of Francis Joseph McEldowney, beloved husband of Laura and much loved father of Michael, Eamon, Patrick and Barney, father-in-law of Bernadette, Bernadette and Ciara, brother to Theresa McErlean, Patrick (RIP infancy), Anne McEldowney, Paddy, Goretti O’Kane, Bernie McNicholl and Josie Bradley. Funeral from his home on Tuesday, March 3 at 10.15am for 11.00am Requiem Mass in Church of St. John the Baptist Granaghan via webcam Granaghan webcam, interment afterwards in adjoining cemetery. Sacred heart of Jesus have mercy on his soul. Deeply regretted by his wife, sons, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, brother, sisters, sister-in-law, brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces and extended family circle. A Shuttle bus will be running from Granaghan Chapel carpark from 5.00pm on Monday. Some parking will also be available in McWilliams farmyard for traffic from Glenullin direction, with shuttle to/from wake provided.

 

Thomas Russell, 28 Craigadick Park, Maghera (Formerly Ardoyne, Belfast) (Updated Funeral Arrangements)

The death has occurred of the late Thomas Russell Maghera (Formerly Ardoyne, Belfast), February 26 2026, Peacefully at his home, 28 Craigadick Pk, Maghera BT46 5DD surrounded by his loving family. Beloved husband of Mairead (née McKenna) and loving father of Kathleen and Tim and devoted grandfather of Séamus, Rory and Rapha. Son of the late Mickey and Bridie and brother of Michael and Margaret Beard. House private. Tom will be reposing in J A Gormley’s Funeral Home, 1 Main St Maghera BT46 5AA on Tuesday, March 3 from 6.00pm to 8.00pm. Funeral on Wednesday, March 4 for 11.00am Requiem Mass in St Patrick’s Church, Glen. Private cremation to follow at later date.
